Innovative Plant Shampoo Bottle: Economical and Environmentally Friendly

“Our use of sugarcane-based plastics in the packaging of natural fusion products not only allows us to provide consumers with the same product properties they expected, but also gives us a sustainable Packing methods, said Hanneke Faber, P&G's vice president and leader of Pantene's global brand franchise. “We are very honored to be the first hair care brand to apply this technology to the packaging of our products. Of course, we also recognize that sustainable development is still at an early stage and there is still a long way to go, but we must We will do our best. We will continue to expand the path of sustainable development in a meaningful and innovative way so that the homes we live in will become more healthy and beautiful. We also hope that everyone can work together to help each other."

Pantene is currently starting production of new shampoo bottles, mainly made of plant plastic. According to reports, this innovative material made from sugar cane can be called the first in the hair care industry. It will become the outer packaging substrate of Pantene-V's natural fusion series. The new shampoo bottle was initially launched in Western Europe and it is planned to expand it to the rest of the world in the next two years.

“Plant plastics will play an important role in improving the sustainability of packaging in the future. It will not only reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but it will also reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, which are incomparable with traditional petroleum plastics,” said GreenBlue. Annie Johnson, director of the Sustainable Packaging Alliance, said. "For a big brand like Pantene, introducing this technology to package its main consumer products is nothing wrong with demonstrating its forward-lookingness in the market and will also encourage further innovation in sustainable packaging products." This shampoo bottle uses almost no non-renewable resources on Earth. The processing raw material is mainly plastic derived from sugar cane, which is a kind of pure natural renewable resource, thus replacing the traditional plastic extracted from non-renewable resources such as petroleum. Sugar cane-derived plastic has significant environmental benefits: It can reduce fossil fuel consumption by more than 70%, and can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 1.7 times per ton of plastic compared to traditional petroleum plastics.
The new Pantene-V natural fusion series was the first to use this sugarcane-based shampoo bottle and will be sold this summer and fall in several major Western European marketing regions and retailers. Consumers will not have any transition period of consumption because its packaging will still maintain its original style. The new shampoo bottle is almost the same as the previous packaging, but it can be recycled. The Pantene Natural Fusion series has been available since 2009 and is available in all major markets around the world.
