U.S. Intermec recently launched its latest version of a vehicle-mounted RFID (radio frequency identification) reader. This product, called the IV7C, is a rugged RFID (radio frequency identification) tag reader. Its design features are: A forklift can read RFID (radio frequency identification) tags from any position. Currently, the IV7C is the only reader on the market that is EPCglobal certified and interoperable.

This innovative system provides an integrated and efficient mobile data acquisition platform for applications that require RFID (radio frequency identification) tag shelf positioning, pallet and container level data reading in warehouses and distribution centers.
This system also has a high degree of robustness, reliability and excellent read performance, allowing forklift drivers to effectively use RFID (radio frequency identification) technology, but also allows management to deploy resources more effectively. Each part of the system, including the redesigned IV7C enclosure, is designed and integrated in accordance with the physical and wireless requirements of the mobile industrial operating environment.
Used in conjunction with warehouse management software, the IV7C can not only read the location of the pick-up pallet, but also obtain information on the doorway through which the pallet is passed, the forklift's travel path, and the location where the pallet was stored.
The CV30 on-board computer is used in conjunction with the IV7C to automatically update the position of the product in the warehouse management system as well as the data on the shelf position when accessing the pallet when the truck passes through the labeled area.
In addition, IV7C can be configured to read multiple mobile interface protocols, even in different formats of label environments, including EPC UHF Gen 2 standards, ISO 18000-6b and 6c. The IV7C is certified by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and also complies with the "Regulations on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment" (RoHS), so it can be used anywhere in the world.
