New process for cyclohexanone production succeeded at Baling

It is reported that the "Cyclohexanone-catalyzed oxidation to cyclohexanone production" technology jointly developed and initiated by Hunan University and Baling Branch Company was successfully obtained at Baling Branch in November 2003. The technology has passed the pilot test and was put into industrial trials in August. The move marked the world's challenge of applying bionic technology to the oxidation of hydrocarbons. This technology has laid a solid foundation for the smooth progress of the "Caprolactam production complete new technology development" project, one of the Group's "Tadelong" research projects. Biomimetic catalysis is an enzyme-catalyzed reaction simulating the life process. It transfers chemical changes in living organisms to a laboratory or industrial production through a certain process to form a new type of subject area that can be industrialized because of its mild conditions, friendly environment, and high catalytic efficiency. The response can be regulated, the product has a strong selectivity, and many other features. It has been described by experts as a revolution in traditional industries. The research originated abroad in the early 1980s, but the selectivity and oxidation of hydrocarbons is still a global problem that has not yet been solved.
The Baling branch company and Hunan University have joined forces to successfully use biomimetic catalytic oxidation to produce cyclohexanone and realize industrialization. It is the first in the world. The biomimetic catalytic oxidation of alkane carried out on a 800-ton/year-scale facility of this project demonstrated that the conversion of cyclohexane reached 10%, the selectivity of alcohol and ketone reached 90%, which was higher than the current conversion rate of cyclohexane 4%, alcohol Ketone selectivity is 80% of the traditional industrial level; at the same time, significant results have been achieved in terms of reducing production costs, improving production conditions, and reducing "three wastes" emissions.
