2 The packaging engineering major has not yet been included in the postgraduate training objectives. Reasons Packaging engineering majors have not yet set up a separate master's degree. There are certain reasons for this. May wish to understand the development of materials science and engineering disciplines, get some inspiration. The new discipline concept of "Materials Science and Engineering" is Northwestern University, USA. E. Prof. Fine's proposal around 1960 was almost the same as that put forward by the new concept of “Materials Science and Engineering”. That is, from the end of the 1950s or early 1960s in the United States, Britain, Germany, and other universities, Materials-related systems such as metallurgy, machinery, and chemical engineering began to be restructured into materials science and engineering, material science or material engineering.
Around 1980, some domestic universities began to explore teaching reforms in materials education. For example, Zhejiang University, Beijing University of Science and Technology, and Tsinghua University have successively established the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Materials Science, or Materials Engineering, and tried out new majors. In July 1993, the State Education Commission promulgated the "Introduction to Undergraduate Professional Catalogs and Specialties in Regular Colleges and Universities", adding the "Materials Science and Engineering" program. It can be seen that materials science and engineering and packaging engineering are all emerging and interdisciplinary disciplines. However, materials science and engineering have now set up first-level discipline doctoral points. The reason:
a. Material science and engineering have established their own subject knowledge system and obtained approval from other disciplines. The core knowledge of materials science and engineering is the four basic elements and their mutual relationship research, namely: structure and composition - synthesis and processing - performance - application, this complete knowledge system;
b. The field of materials science and engineering has achieved a series of scientific research results that have attracted worldwide attention.
c. The teaching reform of materials science and engineering education has achieved outstanding results and has achieved a number of national-level outstanding teaching achievements;
d. There are a number of master academic leaders in the science of materials science and engineering. There are dozens of academicians in the two academicians. It is not difficult to see that it is necessary to do a great deal of work in order to include the 'Packaging Project' in the list of “Subjects and Specialties for Granting Masters, Master Degrees, and Training Graduate Students.”
3 Some Suggestions for Accelerating the Construction of a Professional Master Degree in Packaging Engineering At present, there are more than 70 schools that set up packaging engineering undergraduate programs, plus more than one packaged courses. There are both national key comprehensive universities and general colleges. There are both “blank pioneers” for packaging education and “new recruits” who have just joined the ranks of packaging engineering education. Moreover, these schools have entered the field of multidisciplinary packaging engineering from different disciplines such as light industry, machinery, materials, business, and arts. Although each school has its own positioning and professional characteristics, but as long as the "gate" into the packaging engineering education, is a family. It should be unified and united. Collaborate and work together. Make packaging education bigger and stronger. In the aspect of the master's degree in packaging engineering, in order to strive for the early inclusion of packaging engineering (or packaging science and technology) in the "Disciplinary, Master's Degree, and Discipline, Professional Catalogue for Graduate Training," we recommend that you do the following.
a. Strengthen the research on the core knowledge system of packaging engineering. To become a professional, you must have your own professional language and your own complete knowledge system. It is suggested that the Packaging Education Committee organizes the elder of the packaging education sector, the overseas students studying abroad, and the research group of youth Botuo to study the “core knowledge system of packaging engineering” as a teaching research topic, and strive to reach an early consensus in the packaging field and obtain Recognition of other disciplines;
b. Strengthen the professional construction of packaging engineering, and jointly manage packaging education. Actively explore the teaching reform of packaging engineering education and strive for more national teaching and research topics. The cooperation and exchanges between universities and colleges and universities, the World Bank loans in the early 21st century higher education teaching reform project "research and practice of modern packaging personnel training," strive to obtain the national award for outstanding teaching achievement, so that the packaging engineering education to enhance To a new level.
c. Strengthen ties and cooperation with enterprises, strive for large-scale scientific research issues, and produce a number of major scientific research results that are influential. The modern packaging industry is a very promising sunrise industry. Must seize the opportunity to make outstanding achievements, while accelerating the development of China's packaging industry, while upgrading the academic level of packaging disciplines.
d. Cultivate a group of academic leaders who are influential in the country and have international fame in the packaging discipline. As packaging engineering is a new multidisciplinary multidisciplinary discipline, many experts and scholars have entered the packaging field from different disciplines. Many experts and scholars still retain their original identities, such as mechanics experts, mechanical experts, and material experts. However, as a discipline must have its own characteristics, have their own talent echelon and academic leaders. As a packaging expert, they will work together on the education of packaging engineering and cultivate more talents for packaging engineering.
