What information technology can do for industrialization?

Beijing Helisi System Engineering Co., Ltd. was awarded the second prize in the 2003 Excellent Dissertation Award for Automation and Control [Expert Review]: This article summarizes the history of DCS development in China in recent years. It can be used for industrialization from informationization. What are we going to start and put forward five aspects that informatization must adapt to the actual level of industrialization in China. Starting from the analysis of the development and trend of DCS at home and abroad, we propose that DCS has entered the fourth generation and described the fourth generation of DCS. The technical characteristics, such as its full expression of information and integration, control of the hybrid system, integration with the fieldbus to achieve further dispersion, system development and more. It should be said that this article is an excellent paper on China's development of automated technology based on DCS, FCS and other insights. The inadequacy of the paper is to add the third part of the paper with the contents of commercial promotion: work practices, in which a large number of products of Hollysys are introduced, which is inappropriate for the authors of Hollysys.

[author's experience]: 1. Today's automation and enterprise information is affected by the industry is very impetuous, this trend will not only seriously harm the interests of users, but also will lead to industrial users of the trust of the majority of automated manufacturers have doubts and do not Trust, so I would like to initiate, remind our colleagues to pay attention to the value of the user, only companies that have the ability to continue to create user value, have a long-term competitiveness.
2. Industrial automation is greeted by the benefits of factory technology. It has developed very rapidly recently. Several leading manufacturers' products and technologies have undergone great changes. I have tried to summarize them so that users and manufacturers can recognize mainstream technologies and reduce some exploration time. And funding, at the same time remind everyone that we still have gaps.
3. China is still a developing country. There is still a big gap between our industrial control industry and the international advanced level. The filling of this gap requires seriousness, perseverance, patience and perseverance, and we hope to share this article with you.

The report of the 16th CPC National Congress proposed that “to take a new road to industrialization, we must adhere to the drive for industrialization through informatization, and promote informationization through industrialization”, which points out the direction for our economic restructuring and development in the future, and at the same time, for enterprises engaged in the information industry. Created a huge market space. However, we must understand the relationship between informatization and industrialization, develop industrialization as the goal, and informatization as a means.
We have experienced an era of Internet bubbles. However, we are still surrounded and confused by too many information-related concepts today. It seems like if we don't know "ERP" (Enterprise
Resource Planning, Enterprise Resource Planning, CRM (Customer Relation)
Management, Customer Relationship Management, SCM (Supply Chain)
Management, Supply Chain Management, "MES" (Manufacturing Executive
(System Manufacturing Execution System), eBusiness, etc., cannot be companies, or cannot lead a contemporary company. If companies have not applied these "new technologies", they will not be able to live until tomorrow. To be honest, these ever-changing concepts not only make industrial customers less comfortable, but also the number of companies that promote these concepts really have doubts about the meaning of these concepts. More precisely, when the salespeople of these companies are selling these new concept products or systems to customers, do they really think that these new systems can create value for users? China is still in an era of transition from an agricultural economy to an industrial economy. Industrialization is still far from being realized. As an information technology worker, do we have to ask what our information technology can do for industrialization? Can we really create additional value for industrial users, or do we think more about our own interests when we equip users with new products that carry new technologies, and improving customer capabilities is just a sign? As a matter of fact, many enterprises that have applied information technology have not really improved the competitiveness of enterprises. Under quite a few circumstances, users are not aware of their specific needs, regardless of the management level and personnel quality of their own companies. For some new concepts, ordering some "advanced" systems that are expensive, high-performance, and incapable of application can really be described as degrading their performance. The result is counterproductive and has not been applied, but it has affected normal operations and operations. Their confidence in the application of information technology has thus been greatly hit. The above problems have plagued the author for a long time and have not been clearly answered. The author only wants to report some work and learning experience here, hoping to play a role in attracting investment and trigger the industry to do some practical thinking. At the same time, the author uses the distributed control system (DCS) as an example to introduce the actual work that informationization can do to enhance industrialization. In the end, the author talked about some specific work experience of using information technology to promote industrialization through the practice of Beijing and Lishi System Engineering Co., Ltd.

1 What Informationization Can Do for Industrialization 1.1 Informatization can not replace management decisions but only help decision-making Enterprises' business decisions are always the responsibility of business operators. Informatization may help enterprise managers make decisions and provide information, but the task of decision-making must be borne by the business decision maker. The company's business decision makers make operational decisions by analyzing the competitive environment, their own resource advantages and disadvantages, and the systematic analysis of their competitors. The computer system itself cannot make decisions. The business decision-making process is a trade-off process, because we always face a lot of opportunities, and our resources are always limited. The decision-making process is also a risk judgment process. The more information a computer system provides us, if the information is not sorted out, it makes the decision process more complex. Many of our private enterprise managers do not have high academic qualifications and do not understand the information system. However, their business decisions are very decisive and some have achieved great success. However, some large companies have very modern information support systems and have not produced corresponding benefits. Of course, for most domestic companies, a simple and practical information management system can indeed help decision makers to guard against risks and make rational decisions.
1.2 Informatization does not replace implementation but promotes and supervises implementation Although many manual operations can be substituted for the production process by implementing advanced automated control systems, and the precision and efficiency of control can be significantly improved, the human execution capability remains throughout the entire production process. Play a decisive role. Since the information system and process control are put into operation, the system can only perform the specified functions, while the changes in the market and many changes in the production process are not fixed. Therefore, the information system itself cannot replace all levels of operators in the production process to handle various accidents and automatically obtain the execution results. However, a good information system (including the automation system) can promote people's execution ability through the smooth flow of information, timely feedback of information, processing and analysis of alarms, and operation guidance. In addition, due to the smoothness of information and the accuracy of operational history, the information system can supervise whether executives at all levels complete their duties. Using network technology, companies can achieve online sales. With an automated office system, executives at all levels can improve the efficiency of information transfer. Especially for companies working in different places, a set of practical information systems can greatly increase information transfer efficiency and execution efficiency.
1.3 Informatization can improve control quality and increase production efficiency The implementation of information systems, especially automation systems, can truly improve the process control quality and the device's production efficiency. For example, the artificial control cycle can only be done for a few seconds, and the accuracy of the operation is basically in the order of 1% to 5%. At the same time, the actual operation conditions are also affected by factors such as operator proficiency and mental state. The computer control system can achieve millisecond-level control cycles (this is extremely important for large-scale rapid equipment such as turbine control of thermal power plants). The accuracy of control parameters can be 0.1% to 0.5%. For special circuits, the accuracy can also be improved. High, therefore, can greatly improve the quality of the product. For some large and complex production processes, operators can only perform simple single-loop control operations, and the computer control system can be optimized or quasi-optimized according to different production conditions (changes in raw materials, changes in the environment, changes in the target product). Control, significantly improve the efficiency of production. In addition, the contemporary enterprise information and automation system can realize information collection and sorting from the production site to the device, from a single device to a workshop, from the workshop to the entire plant, from the entire plant to the entire company, thereby realizing comprehensive monitoring of the whole plant and improvement. The efficiency of the entire production process. Through appropriate statistical analysis and processing, the information system can help to find out the loopholes in the efficiency of the company and find the distribution of costs, thus providing an objective basis for the operators to solve the problems. The system's equipment management capabilities can help achieve predictive maintenance, thereby reducing the number and duration of parking overhauls and increasing productivity. The advanced batch processing function can help the operator to automatically switch to a reasonable control parameter when changing the product or changing the output of the device and improve the efficiency.
1.4 Informatization may increase risk Informatization promotes and enhances industrialization while also increasing risk factors.
(1) The reliance on information systems for the concentration of information and business decisions makes the business risks relatively concentrated. If the information system is destroyed, the business operations may be paralysed.
(2)
The computer control system realizes more and more and more complicated control functions, which makes the operator become the assistant of the computer system. If the system has major problems, it may lead to accidents.
(3) Large-scale open information systems have brought convenience to work and increased efficiency, but corporate confidentiality protection has become difficult.
(4) More and more complicated information systems may be attacked by hackers or viruses, causing the system to paralyze.
1.5 How Informatization Promotes Industrialization Services The practice of the Chinese revolution and construction has repeatedly demonstrated that the basic principles of Marxism can only be successfully combined with China's actual conditions. In the same way, informationization can only achieve benefits when it is adapted to the actual level of industrialization.
(1) The leaders of enterprises are one of the decisive factors for the rise and fall of enterprises. The level of informatization must adapt to the level of leaders of enterprises. Otherwise, informationization is doomed to failure.
(2)
Enterprise executives at all levels (management cadres, technical experts, on-site operators, etc.) are the executors of business decision-making, but also the actual operators of information systems (including control systems), and information systems must adapt to their level unless the enterprise can Replace unfit people. Be sure not to put the cart before the horse. Have all executives adapt to the information system.
(3)
When all information products manufacturers promote and implement information systems, after giving sufficient training to the decision makers and related executive personnel at all levels, it is imperative that the user's actual needs be clearly defined, and then tailor the appropriate information system according to actual needs. China's industrial enterprise level can range from the smallest workshop-style manufacturing to large multinational corporations. It can span from the industrial level in the 16th and 17th centuries to the level of the 21st century. Therefore, the best information system solution cannot satisfy all Chinese users. Demand. Only an appropriate solution to meet the right customers is an efficient solution.
(4)
Enterprise information must have cost consciousness. China's national conditions determine that our greatest resources (compared with the comparative advantages in international competition) are inexhaustible and inexhaustible cheap labor productivity. Therefore, when the application of information and automation must be calculated computer information system to replace the value created by people. In many cases, labor costs will be high
