Engin Plast Develops CWS 3001 Batch Weigher and AF Forced Feeder

Engin Plast has developed the CWS 3001 batch weighing machine and the AF Forced Feeder, which is designed for the processing of low-density, high-temperature (typically up to 180 °C), low-liquidity, PET regrinds. Some processors have adopted both types of equipment and have used existing extruders to produce 100% recycled PET.

The CWS 3001 batch weighing system is suitable for all kinds of extrusion lines, blow molding machines and injection machines. It can measure and mix up to 6 components (grain polymer, master batch, PSA higher than 0.25 kg/dm. Grinding waste). The system can be installed directly on the processing machine instead of the hopper, or on the ground and fed to one or more hoppers at the same time. The system includes a single weighing-type weight-increasing device. A dedicated batch weighing system for PET regrind uses independent metering of components based on material characteristics and batch recipes. After the components are weighed independently, the batch is discharged into the mixer below.

When the percentage of lightweight material such as PET is high and the extruder requires extremely high feed uniformity, the AF system is more suitable. The AF system is equipped with a special mandatory charging device and anti-bridge device to ensure uniform feeding. The AF Forced Feeder can be integrated with the CWS 3001 batch weighing system and is particularly suitable for applications where the percentage of recycled PET material is high (80% to 100%). In these applications, professionally designed mechanical equipment must be used for difficult processing (eg, light weight, irregular shape of recycled materials). If the crystalline PET regrind must be dehumidified and dried before it enters the extruder, the forced-feed system described above is ideal.
