Yueyang Paper orders $65 million light coated paper production line from Metso

Metso Finland received an order for a light-coated paper production line from Yueyang Paper Group. This production line will be built in Yueyang City, Hunan Province and will be put into production in summer 2003. This order is worth about 74 million euros (65 million US dollars).
The core of the project is a new paper machine with a design speed of 1600 meters per minute and a net width of 6.3 meters. The grammage of the product is mostly 60 GSM. The raw materials are mainly domestic poplar pulp.
The order also includes a control system provided by Metso Automation.
Yueyang Paper Mill is located on the bank of Dongting Lake and is connected to the Yangtze River. The waterway between the factory and Shanghai is relatively convenient. The expressway from Changsha to Yueyang will also be open to traffic before the end of the year. Yueyang Paper Mill is a state-owned company and is currently considering stock listing.
Earlier this year, Metso received two large orders in China: a board machine in Guangdong and a light coater in Jilin. At present, Metso has a joint venture paper machine manufacturing plant in Xi'an and a sales office in Beijing. The new service technology center has also opened in Wuxi.
