(1) Chrome plating: The chrome plating film on the corrugated surface currently used in the market. Hard chrome has a hardness of about 1200-1400 VlCkers, so it is very strong but weak. The material hardness of the corrugating roller itself is only between 600-800 VlCkers.
Use effect: The corrugating roller is subjected to various resistances during operation, and the chrome plating cracks off and falls off after several hundred vibrations per minute. The surface smoothness is low and must be rubbed by the paper after several weeks of friction; the thickness of the chrome plating is generally between 0.1-0.15mm. (2) RoCkwelle Tungsten Carbide Steel Coating: In North America, tungsten carbide steel coatings have been used for corrugating rolls in recent years. A superhard, anti-wear material that is mainly composed of tungsten and carbides and its hardness is second only to diamonds. At the same time, it also has good flexibility.
Usage effect: The corrugating roller with drilled tungsten carbide steel coating is used after extremely precise polishing and grinding. The surface is extremely smooth and wears little with the paper, because RoCkwelle has low wear rate and almost no wear, so tungsten carbide is used. The thickness of the steel coating is only about 0.05mm, which greatly reduces the corrugation rate and saves core paper. After wear, re-coating, without changing the diameter of the base roll, is simple and convenient.
2. Outline of Corrugating Roller (1) The roundness of the top and bottom of the V-shaped wheel corrugating roller is a key factor in its appearance.
