China successfully developed feed synbiotics

The current non-standard use of antibiotics has made the safety of feed and livestock products in China a social problem, and has seriously affected the competitiveness of China's international market for animal products exports. Recently, the National Feed Engineering Technology Research Center successfully developed a feed synbiotic that can be used as a substitute for antibiotics in feed processing. This will provide safety and protection for feed and livestock products in China that are non-toxic and non-residual. At present, the project has passed the appraisal of the State Ministry of Education and is listed as a project for the transformation of agricultural science and technology achievements of the Ministry of Science and Technology. China is a large exporter of animal products, and at the same time it is one of the countries that rely on antibiotics the most. The past practice of feed companies adding antibiotics to animal feed has been questioned internationally due to the possibility of increasing the resistance of pathogens in animal products. In 1999, Switzerland completely banned the use of antibiotics as feed additives. At the same time, the EU has also issued bans on some widely used feeding antibiotics. In order to make China's livestock products in an advantageous position in the international competition, the development of non-toxic and non-residual alternatives to feed antibiotics has become an important issue at present, and synbiotics for forage use are an ideal choice. Therefore, the Ministry of Science and Technology has listed research on the development and application of forage synbiotics as a national agricultural science and technology achievement transformation project. According to the data, plant polysaccharides can greatly increase the effect of beneficial microorganisms and is an effective probiotic synergist. The team of National Feed Engineering Technology Research Center, which undertook the research of the feed synbiotics project, used this as a clue. In the country, microbiological identification, trace biochemical reactions, and ion chromatography were used for the first time to combine beneficial microorganisms with active ingredients of Chinese herbal medicines. Together, seven target plants were selected from 78 plants. Then, to make full use of their complementary effects, a large tank liquid culture method is used to produce beneficial bacteria strains, and an air compression and purification system and airflow drying system are used to produce the feed Bacillus additive. Directional extraction is performed using water extraction, alcohol extraction, and lipid extraction. Technology to extract plant polysaccharides, targeted extraction of three types of complex polysaccharides, optimized combination of Bacillus additive and plant polysaccharides to form an ideal non-toxic, residue-free alternative to feed antibiotics --- feed synbiotics, thus Ensure the safety of feed and livestock products. A large number of animal experiments have shown that this synbiotic product has achieved similar performance to antibiotics and has a clear improvement on meat quality, and is a promising alternative to antibiotics. At present, the pilot work of the product is nearing completion and is supported by the Ministry of Agriculture's rural energy construction project.
