The crimping machine is also called a sealing machine. It is a key equipment in the steel drum production line. The crimping machine is divided into horizontal and vertical. The horizontal crimping machine has the characteristics of good performance and high efficiency, but the investment is large and the maintenance is complicated. The vertical crimping machine has low investment, no pre-rolling, and easy maintenance. Although its production efficiency is not as good as that of the horizontal crimping machine, it can be used in combination to improve work efficiency. Therefore, many small and medium-sized barrel mills still use vertical crimping machines.

The vertical crimping machine is a traditional sealing device for the barrel industry. How to produce the triple seven-layer round-edged steel drums that meet the International Maritime Dangerous Regulations Class I packaging on traditional equipment is an urgent issue for some small and medium-sized barrel factories.

Since the working surface of the domestic vertical crimping machine is flat, the edge of the tray is a right angle surface, so that the sealing of the steel barrel is made into a "D" shape when the steel barrel is sealed. Stress concentration is caused at the curling edge, cracks are easily generated during pressure test, and the steel drum leaks, and the product quality does not meet the requirements of the International Maritime Dangerous Regulations Class I packaging.

After the improvement of the vertical crimping machine of our factory, the realization of the desire to produce Class I packaging steel drums. This achievement has obtained national patents. Patent No. 8.

Our factory made the following improvements to the original crimping machine: the original roller was made in the vertical crimping machine according to the outline of Figure 1. The working surface is a specific inclined surface, and the inclined surface angle θ1 is 5°-10°. The original tray is made according to the outer contour of FIG. 2 by the B-axis coupling of the crimping machine in the crimp feeding system. The upper part of the edge is provided with a curved surface, the radius R is 3-8 mm, and the lower part is provided with a sloped surface. The supporting inclined surface angle θ2 is 5°-10°, and is coupled to the spindle rotating system through the shaft.

The working process of this machine:

The bottom of the bucket (or the top of the bucket) and the barrel are placed between the curved side tray 5 and the cylinder to fix the workpiece under the action of air pressure; the spindle rotation system 4 drives the workpiece A to rotate through the curved tray axis C; the feed system 2 operates; Under the action of the cam system, the pre-rolling roller 6 is crimped one week; under the hemp of the return spring 7, the pre-rolling roller 6 is withdrawn; the beveling reeling roller 3 is advanced, and the sealing edge is formed by crimping until completion; in the return spring The effect of 7 is down to the original position. The curling work is the end.

Compared with the original vertical crimping machine, the vertical crimping machine has the following advantages:

1. Since the curved edge tray is used, the pressure bearing capacity of the disc is improved, the bending effect of the pre-rolling and forming rolls is improved, the sealing quality is improved, and the stress concentration of the curling is eliminated.

2. Due to the use of beveled rolling rollers, it is possible to produce triple-layer round-edged steel drums and meet the requirements of the International Maritime Dangerous Regulations Class I packaging. The product qualification rate has been improved, and cracks and leakage accidents have been eliminated.

3. Since the twisting tray and the beveling roller have mutually corresponding bevel angles, the mechanical friction during sealing is reduced, and the curling is ensured smoothly.

4. The machine has the characteristics of small size, low cost and advanced technology, and is suitable for small and medium-sized steel drum factories.
