The binding thread is the binding material for thread binding, sewing, three-eye binding and thread binding. The binding thread includes wax thread, silk thread, twine thread, synthetic fiber thread, etc.
The wax on cotton thread is called wax thread, also known as cotton wax light. It is a commonly used material for hardcover book core lock wire. There are four specifications of cotton thread, and their models are: 42S / 4, 42S / 6, 60S / 4, 60S / 6, (S and the numbers before it indicate the yarn count, and the numbers after the slash indicate the number of strands). When binding, according to the thickness of the book, the fold of the signature, and the amount of paper, the cotton thread of different thickness is selected according to the standard.
The texture of silk thread is soft and smooth, but its price is high and its flexibility is large. It is only used when sewing high-end thread-bound books and picture books.
Commonly used synthetic fiber yarns include nylon yarns and polyester yarns. Nylon thread has high strength and can use thinner thread. After the money is locked, the back of the book is not high and the thread is constantly threaded. However, nylon has high elasticity, and it is not easy to lock the signature. After cutting, it is easy to have uneven cuts or curved backs.
